The Teamsters say they are for equality, Ha!

Filed under: Teamsters — Roger @ 10:54 am

Remember you heard it at Rogerradio first. The Teamsters claim to be anti racist well then how come they haven’t stopped all their pension funds. Did you people know that black people dont live as long as white people, well with that statement in mind, did you know the Teamster pension plans only pay out as long as you live! Yea you guessed right black people are getting screwed.

Problems with the bully bosses? Sue’em

Did anyone see this article in the (USA Today newspaper) ? It talks about legislatures across the nation considering laws to give workers grounds to sue their superiors for being, basically, jerks. A proposed bill in New Jersey would allow employees to claim $25,000 in damages if an employer created “an abusive work environment.” New York, Vermont and Washington are considering laws and a California workers advocacy group is trying to get a “sue the boss bill” considered there to.
What I want to know is how come Wisconsin isn’t mentioned here, and also why aren’t the big bad Teamsters mentioned here. Does anyone out there know how much the Teamsters donated to Governor Doyle’s election campaign? And what is the working man getting for having a democratic governor? Higher taxes? Screw the Teamsters they are actually hurting the working people of Wisconsin!

Talking about abuses

Filed under: Teamsters — Roger @ 11:28 am

I was running for union office, and a union steward at UPS Kelvin Kummrow (Kelly) volunteered to count the ballots at the union hall. Anyway while working as a volunteer Kelvin Kummrow decided to see who was voting for me, and well you guessed it he opened a secret ballot. And to make matters worse he confronted Sheldon Drake (UPS feeder) about voting for me. He said why would you want to vote for Roger, then Sheldon said how do you know I voted for Roger and Kelvin went on to say that he had opened the secret ballot. Kelvin went on to badger Sheldon about voting for Roger. When Sheldon told me about this I wrote a letter to Paul Lovinus (sec. tres. L.344) and I received no response. What do you think about the Teamsters now?

Has anyone out there ever had a union steward refuse to file a grievance?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 3:37 pm

I was a feeder driver at UPS (semi-driver) and one of my union stewards Pat Tappa refused to file grievances. Also at a grievance hearing I requested him to bring information to a grievance hearing and he didn’t. What even makes me more annoyed is the fact that he didn’t tell me he didn’t have requested information until after the grievance hearing. And at that point he told me the business agent told him not to bring it. Has this happened to you?

Abuse of power

Filed under: Teamsters — admin @ 2:21 pm

The Teamsters have us vote for politicians that end up screwing us. During the Cater administration the democrats controlled the whole government but yet they passed anti labor legislation. By the way Carter was going to replace the air traffic controllers to, thats why the leader of the air traffic controllers endorsed Ronald Reagan for president. But it back fired and mainly because of the lack of support from the Teamsters. Even to this day Teamster leaders scorn at the idea of changing the 40 hour work week to something less. I feel that today we should have a 35 hour work week and overtime after 7 hours worked.
